These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and the operator of Rifqa ("we", "us"). They apply to the Rifqa website and app, including chat rooms, the chaperone portal and support. By creating an account, or by accepting a chaperone invitation, you agree to them. The Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and is part of this agreement.
If you don't agree, don't use Rifqa.
Keep your password, the codes we email you and your recovery codes to yourself. Whoever has your email inbox or your recovery codes can take control of the account, so store the recovery codes somewhere private.
Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. Every security email we send has a "this wasn't me" link that signs every device out and locks the account until you set a new password.
You can sign up without an email, with a private username that only you see. Your recovery codes are then the only way back into your account if you lose your password or your device. We can't restore access for you, and neither can support, so keep the codes safe.
If you add a passkey, anyone who can unlock the device or password manager that holds it can sign in. Getting back in with a recovery code, or using "this wasn't me", removes every passkey.
You're responsible for what happens on your account, unless it was used without your permission and you told us promptly.
When you use Rifqa, you must not:
When a woman and a man match, she sends the first message. If she doesn't within 24 hours, the match ends.
Messages are checked automatically before they are delivered: for scams, harassment, threats and anything involving minors everywhere, and for explicit content everywhere except the 18+ area. A message that may break these rules is held, and only you see it until a moderator decides.
If you give a chaperone permission to read your messages, they can see new messages in your match conversations from then on. Both people in a match can see that a chaperone is involved.
Members can create public or private chat rooms, for everyone, for women only or for men only, within their own section. In a room you are known only by the name you choose for that room.
If you don't take the live selfie check, or don't pass it, you are in the unverified section. There you can use Discover, matches, chat rooms and message requests with other unverified members only: the verified and unverified sections never see each other.
Rifqa may offer a separate 18+ area in countries where the law allows it. It isn't available everywhere, and at times it may not be available anywhere. Where it is:
Rifqa doesn't charge for the 18+ area or earn money from it.
We check identities in the verified section with the live selfie and moderate what people post, but we can't guarantee who anyone is or how they will behave. You alone decide whether to meet someone, and you are responsible for your own safety.
Meet in public, tell someone you trust, and use the safety check-in if you like. A check-in only sends emails to the contact you choose. It is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Report anyone who breaks these rules. Reports are confidential: the person you report isn't told who reported them.
You keep ownership of your photos, text and messages. You allow us to store, copy, resize, blur, display and moderate them only as needed to run Rifqa for you and the people you choose to share them with. That permission ends when you delete them or your account, apart from the copies we must keep for the periods in the Privacy Policy.
We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Only post content you have the right to share.
Rifqa uses AI to check messages, photos and profile text, to check your selfie and, for the 18+ area, your age, to suggest people and conversation openers, and to answer support requests first. Suggestions and drafts can be wrong; nothing is sent in your name without you choosing to send it.
Automated checks can hold a message, reject a photo, or approve or reject a selfie or an age check in clear cases. Anything unclear goes to a person. If you think an automated decision is wrong, ask for a person to look at it through Help & support.
We can remove content, hold messages, limit features, suspend or permanently remove an account, or close a room when we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been broken, or to protect someone's safety. When it's safe and lawful, we tell you what happened and why.
You can ask us to look again at a decision through Help & support. A person will review it.
We may keep a protected record (a keyed code, not the address itself) of the email of a removed account, so it can't simply sign up again. An account without an email leaves no such record.
You can download your data and delete your account at any time under Me → Settings. Deletion happens 7 days after you ask, and you can cancel it until then. After that your account and profile are erased, except for what the Privacy Policy says we keep.
Rifqa is free to use. We work to keep it available, safe and accurate, but we provide it as it is: we can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that you will find a match.
We may change or stop features. If a change significantly affects you, we'll tell you in the app first.
We are not responsible for what other members say or do, on Rifqa or when you meet them, or for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen, as far as the law allows.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have under the consumer or data protection laws of the country where you live.
When we change these terms in a meaningful way, we update the date at the top and ask you to accept the new version in the app before you continue. If you don't accept it, you can download your data and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the law of the place where Rifqa's operator is established, without taking away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Please contact us first, through Help & support in the app, so we can try to resolve any problem.
